Cooper, TX — Health officials and Cooper ISD are monitoring a developing situation at Cooper ISD Elementary where two suspected cases of measles have been reported within the same family. While the infections are not yet laboratory-confirmed, school officials expect test results to be released by Monday, May 12, 2025.

If the cases are confirmed, school leadership has announced that all unvaccinated students at the elementary campus will be required to observe a 21-day quarantine period. This precautionary step is aimed at curbing potential transmission of the highly contagious virus.

The school has assured the community that daily sanitization procedures are being followed, and emphasized their continued commitment to student and staff safety. Vaccinated individuals are encouraged to monitor for common measles symptoms, including:
