ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX — A Heath woman has been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted on two felony counts involving inappropriate conduct with a minor, according to officials with the Rockwall County District Attorney’s Office.

Natalie Sorrells, 44, a local real estate agent, was originally arrested in February and charged with four separate counts involving a 13-year-old boy—reportedly a friend of her son. While two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child were dismissed, she was found guilty on both counts of indecency with a child.

Court documents confirm that Sorrells received a sentence of 30 months for each count. The judge ordered the sentences to run consecutively, totaling a five-year prison term. Additionally, she was fined $10,000 as part of the ruling.

The case came to light when the victim’s mother discovered deleted text messages between her child and Sorrells. The child later disclosed to authorities that inappropriate contact had occurred.

Sorrells, who had previously served as a volunteer at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, was not alleged to have committed any of the misconduct on church premises. Church officials released a public statement following her arrest, stating that none of the incidents were connected to any church event or property.

Law enforcement and the Rockwall County District Attorney’s Office have commended the swift action taken by investigators and the victim’s family in bringing the matter to justice.

As of this report, Sorrells remains in custody and will begin serving her sentence immediately.
