SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — A disturbance at a motel in Sulphur Springs led to the arrest of 41-year-old Kevin Hubbard on the evening of May 9, 2025.

According to the Sulphur Springs Police Department, officers were dispatched to a motel on Industrial Drive around 9:00 p.m. following reports of a public disturbance. Upon arrival, they encountered Hubbard, who admitted to drinking and exhibited signs of intoxication. Officers reported he was unable to maintain his balance and posed a danger to himself and others, prompting them to place him into custody for public intoxication.

While at the Hopkins County Jail, the situation escalated. During the booking process, Hubbard allegedly threatened to kill a supervising jailers wife stating, “I’ll probably kill her when I get out.” As a result of the Jailers wife being the caller, authorities pursued charges of obstruction or retaliation, and an Emergency Protective Order was filed to ensure the victim’s safety.

No other incidents related to the arrest have been disclosed.

Hubbard has since been released from the Hopkins County Jail. His charges include Public Intoxication (MC) and Obstruction or Retaliation (F3).
