SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — A Sulphur Springs man is facing serious charges after being arrested for trespassing and drug possession within a school drug-free zone over the weekend.
According to law enforcement, Charlie Albert Hoskinson, 41, was apprehended on the morning of May 18, 2025, after officers responded to a criminal trespass call at The Reserve Apartments. Officers say they found Hoskinson sitting inside his vehicle on the property where he had previously been issued a trespass warning.
During the encounter, Hoskinson allegedly admitted to officers that he was in possession of marijuana. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a plastic baggie containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine. After verifying the active trespass notice, Sulphur Springs Police took Hoskinson into custody.
Authorities confirmed the location of the arrest was within 1,000 feet of Sulphur Springs Elementary School, marking the location as a designated drug-free zone. The methamphetamine recovered weighed approximately 2.3 grams.
Hoskinson was booked into the Hopkins County Jail and charged with:
