SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — A man and woman were taken into custody on May 25, 2025, following a disturbance at 229 Main Street (Muddy Jakes), where both were allegedly intoxicated and refused to leave the property.
Sulphur Springs police officers responded to a call regarding a male and female exhibiting unruly behavior. Upon arrival, officers identified the individuals as Eduardo Raul Lopez, 42, and Erica Love, 46. According to the affidavit, both subjects had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and were highly intoxicated in a public place.
Officers asked the individuals to leave the property per management’s request. When they refused, Lopez and Love reportedly became verbally aggressive and uncooperative. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail after being deemed a danger to themselves and others.
They were each charged with Public Intoxication (MC).
