SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX – A 51-year-old woman was arrested on June 2, 2025, following a public disturbance at Pacific Park, according to the Sulphur Springs Police Department.
Theresa Gale Garcia was taken into custody after officers responded to a call for service around 7:52 PM in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Officers attempted to communicate with Garcia, who allegedly began yelling and using profane language in a public setting.
According to the arrest affidavit, officers made multiple efforts to calm Garcia and understand her complaint. Despite these attempts, she reportedly continued to escalate the situation and refused to comply with de-escalation efforts.
Garcia was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Hopkins County Jail without further incident.
No further details about bond or court proceedings were immediately available at the time of this report.
The incident occurred in a public park during the evening hours and was witnessed by bystanders in the area. Authorities emphasized that efforts to maintain public peace were a top priority during the response.
