DELTA COUNTY, TX – Two men were taken into custody and a firearm was recovered on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, thanks to the successful tracking efforts of Delta County K9 Zigi and the assistance of multiple law enforcement agencies.
The first incident occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. when a white male motorcyclist fled from Delta County Deputies near Highway 24 and FM 128. The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Christopher Mosher of Sulphur Springs, led deputies on a high-speed chase reaching 97 miles per hour before entering Lamar County and fleeing on foot into a field.
With support from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, and Lamar County Constables, a perimeter was established. K9 Zigi was deployed and successfully tracked Mosher to a wooded area where he was taken into custody. Authorities later confirmed Mosher was out on parole at the time of his arrest.
During this pursuit, a truck driver reported witnessing Mosher tossing a handgun into a ditch in Delta County. Using dash cam video and GPS data provided by the trucking company, law enforcement located the area. K9 Zigi was again instrumental, tracking and recovering the discarded firearm from a deep grassy ditch.
Later that evening, around 8:30 p.m., Delta County Deputies were dispatched to 2nd Street in Pecan Gap after receiving a tip about a wanted man riding a lawnmower. Deputies searched two residences but were initially unable to locate the individual. K9 Zigi was again deployed to a nearby field but the suspect evaded initial capture. He was later found hiding in a barn by Constable Robinson and identified as 37-year-old Anthony Pease of Cooper, Texas.
Charges Filed:
- Christopher Mosher is charged with:
- 3rd Degree Felony – Evading Arrest with a Vehicle
- 3rd Degree Felony – Tampering with Physical Evidence
- 2nd Degree Felony – Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
- He is being held in the Delta County Jail on a $90,000 bond, along with a no-bond parole violation hold.
- Anthony Pease is being held on:
- Misdemeanor Probation Violation – Criminal Trespass of a Habitation
- Misdemeanor Probation Violation – Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance
- He is being held on a cash bond totaling $4,256.00.
