Cooper Woman Arrested for Drug Possession in Hopkins County

Hopkins County, TX – Hopkins County authorities arrested 31-year-old Kayla Rebecca Adams of Cooper, Texas, after discovering suspected methamphetamine during a late-night investigation on July 14, 2025.

According to the arrest report, Sulphur Springs Police Department responded to a call regarding suspicious activity on the property of a closed business located on Industrial Drive West. Officers observed signs of nervous behavior from Adams and requested a K-9 unit. After the K-9 alerted to possible narcotics, deputies conducted a probable cause search.

Deputies reportedly found a red glasses case containing a crystal-like substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. A clear glass pipe with methamphetamine residue was also located. Adams was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hopkins County Jail.

Due to the location being within 1,000 feet of a designated drug-free zone, the possession charge was enhanced. Adams was booked on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 under 1 gram in a Drug-Free Zone.
