Fannin County, TX – August 5, 2025
On Tuesday, August 5th, the Bonham Police Department initiated a vehicle pursuit within the city limits. The suspect fled down Silo Road, passing the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies from the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, along with a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper, joined the pursuit to assist.
During the chase, the suspect was reportedly seen waving a firearm out the window and was believed to have been involved in a family violence incident prior to fleeing from law enforcement.
The pursuit continued onto FM 87 South and then turned eastbound onto State Highway 56. The suspect led officers on a lengthy chase through Fannin County before the pursuit came to an end near the Fannin/Lamar County line.
The suspect ultimately crashed into a Fannin County Constable vehicle, disabling both vehicles. Exiting his vehicle armed, the suspect engaged in a brief standoff with law enforcement officers before surrendering and being taken into custody.
Two members of the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, as well as the suspect, sustained minor injuries. All were evaluated by medical personnel on the scene.
This remains an ongoing investigation. Further details are limited at this time.
The Fannin County Sheriff’s Office extended gratitude to Bonham Police Department, Texas DPS, Honey Grove Police Department, Precincts 1 and 3 Constable’s Offices, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, and Allegiance EMS for their coordinated response and support.
