SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — On the morning of August 6, 2025, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jerry Dell Sanderson, age 30, following a call about a verbal disturbance on County Road 4767.


According to the arrest affidavit, deputies were dispatched after a complainant reported that Sanderson was yelling threats and acting aggressively. When deputies arrived, they observed Sanderson shouting and cursing while allegedly attempting to interfere with their investigation.


Deputies say that when they instructed Sanderson to place his hands behind his back, he pulled away. After multiple attempts to detain him, Sanderson was taken to the ground, placed in double-locking handcuffs, and transported to the Hopkins County Jail.
