Hunt County: Capital Murder Charge Filed in 2024 Infant Death; 20-Year-Old Booked

HUNT COUNTY, TX — Hunt County Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Andrew Lynn Garza, 20, into the Hunt County Detention Center on a charge of Capital Murder of a Child Under 10 Years of Age.

Records indicate Garza—who currently resides in Garland—was previously indicted and arrested in July 2024 for Injury to a Child connected to an incident reported in October 2023 while he lived in unincorporated Royse City (Hunt County). That case was dismissed in October 2024.

The current capital murder accusation stems from the November 24, 2024 death of 3-week-old Jonah Jesus Garza. As of publication, no bond has been set.
