
Hopkins County, TX – On August 28, 2025, at approximately 3:04 a.m., law enforcement officers conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of Sean Adam Dowden, age 47, for Driving While Intoxicated (1st Offense).
According to the arrest affidavit, officers observed signs of intoxication, including open containers of alcohol in plain view. Dowden admitted to drinking and was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Based on his behavior and performance, it was determined he lacked the physical and mental capacity to safely operate a motor vehicle.
The arresting officer, Green, placed Dowden into custody and transported him to Hopkins County Jail without incident. He consented to a blood draw for analysis after receiving a DIC-24 statutory warning. Medical personnel at Christus Mother Frances Hospital performed the blood draw prior to his booking.
Dowden was formally charged with:
- DWI 1st (MB) – Driving While Intoxicated, First Offense
The arrest was executed by the Sulphur Springs Police Department (SSPD).
