Royse City, TX – On Thursday morning, September 4, 2025, the Royse City Police Department detained a 14-year-old student from Royse City High School for making terroristic threats inside a classroom setting.

According to the official media release, the student allegedly threatened to harm a teacher. While no physical violence occurred and no weapon was present, the situation was taken seriously. School Security and School Resource Officers immediately intervened and detained the student without incident.

While in custody, the student reportedly made an additional statement threatening the safety of the school itself. As a result, the student was charged with two counts of Terroristic Threat, both classified as Class A Misdemeanors. The individual was transported to a juvenile detention facility.

Chief of Police Kirk Aldridge and the Royse City Police Department emphasized the importance of school safety in a statement: “Threats of violence to any student, staff member and/or the school will not be tolerated.”

Authorities are urging parents to speak with their children about the consequences of making or posting threats, even jokingly, as they can result in criminal charges.

Hunt County Theft Reports will continue to monitor the situation for any updates. This incident is a clear reminder of the need for awareness, communication, and swift response when it comes to school safety.
