Collin County, TX – A lasting tribute is being established in memory of Princeton Police Officer Nancy Dominguez, who tragically lost her life in April 2024. The City of Princeton, together with the Princeton Community Development Corporation and Sgt. Cody Trim, has announced the creation of a new scholarship in her name to support students pursuing a future in law enforcement.
Officer Dominguez passed away following a head-on collision while commuting to work. According to reports, a Ford F-150 lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, striking her vehicle. Her sudden loss deeply impacted the community and her colleagues, who remembered her as a dedicated officer with a servant’s heart.
Joining the Princeton Police Department in July 2022, Officer Dominguez quickly made a name for herself—not only for her work on the streets but also for her involvement in the community. She received several commendations during her short but impactful career.
Now, her name will continue to make a difference. The Officer Nancy Dominguez Scholarship will be available to students at Collin College beginning in the Spring 2026 application cycle, supporting the Fall 2026 semester. The scholarship will assist those studying criminal justice, particularly students who are passionate about public service and making a difference in their communities.
“We wanted to do something meaningful, something that helps others the way Nancy did,” said Sgt. Cody Trim. “This scholarship is about more than honoring her—it’s about continuing her mission to serve.”
The scholarship has already been introduced to local high schools, encouraging students who dream of entering law enforcement to apply. A formal dedication ceremony is planned in the coming weeks, with members of the Princeton Police Department and Officer Dominguez’s family expected to attend.
Even though she is no longer with us, Officer Dominguez’s legacy of compassion, courage, and community service will live on—through every student who walks her path into law enforcement.
