A Fannin County man has died after being shot by his son over the weekend.
Lt. Frank Deater with the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office said Alvin Nichols, 64, died in the hospital Thursday morning.
Deater said Timothy Nichols, 41, shot Alvin five days earlier.
Deater said the argument began when Alvin insulted Timothy’s wife. They said that’s when Timothy shot Alvin in the leg with a handgun.
Deputies arrested Timothy for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
