Trailer theft suspect and wanted Parolee Matthew Charles Douglas taken into custody by TXDPS Aircraft 101 and DPS Trooper Olguin.
Hunt County Sheriff’s Office and Commerce PD officers apprehended Douglas behind Ace Hardware in Commerce. Douglas evaded arrest Saturday 10/2/2021 from Cumby PD when found with a stolen trailer which was reported stolen out of Hunt County.
A Cumby PD Officer was in Commerce Sunday afternoon when the Cumby officer spotted Douglas leaving Domino’s Pizza. The officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. Douglas took off from Officers again, running into the woods behind the Ace Hardware near the Dollar Tree.
DPS 101 was called to the scene to assist in the search. Once the aircraft made it to the scene he was quickly able to locate the wanted suspect hiding in the woods. Douglas has active Pardon and Parole Warrant and Theft Warrant out of Rains County.
