Suspect Booked Into Hunt County Jail On Murder Charges After A Weekend Shooting

UPDATE: The victim in Sunday’s homicide is identified as Roque Ramos, 23, of Quinlan. The suspect in this homicide is identified as Martin Padron-Martinez, 42, of Quinlan. Padron-Martinez has been booked in to the Hunt County Jail with a bond amount set at $1,000,000.00.

Martin Pardon-Martinez was booked into the Hunt County Detention Center after a Sunday morning shooting that left one dead.

At approximately 2:30 AM on December 5, 2021 the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office had a call
involving a disturbance with weapons in the 8900 block of Private Road 2402 in Quinlan. When
deputies arrived on scene they found an adult male subject in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound.

Hunt County deputies began administering first aid to the victim until AMR and Union Valley Fire Department arrived to take over life saving measures. The suspect, Martin Pardon-Martinez fled the scene, but was quickly apprehended by deputies.

The victim of the shooting was transported to the hospital and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Hunt County Sheriff’s Investigators and the Texas Ranger processed the scene and this incident is being investigated as a homicide. The suspect has been transported to the Hunt County Jail. This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as soon as it is available.

Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones would like to commend his officers for their first aid efforts in treating the victim and for quickly apprehending the suspect. Sheriff Jones also expresses his condolences to the family of the victim.
