High School Student Arrested on Warrant; THC Vape Pen Found

High School Student Arrested on Warrant; THC Vape Pen Found

Cumby Officers arrested a student from Cumby High School on January 23, 2025, on an outstanding Hopkins County warrant. The arrest took place at the high school, and the student, identified as 17 Year Old, Johnny Cole Bloyed, was transported to the Hopkins County Jail for booking.

During the booking process, officers discovered that Bloyed was in possession of a THC vape pen, which was found in his clothing. As a result, additional charges were filed against him for possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2. This charge is classified as a third-degree felony under Texas law.

The original warrant and the subsequent discovery of the vape pen highlight the thorough booking procedures at the Hopkins County Jail. If convicted of the additional felony charge, Bloyed could face severe legal consequences.
