Sulphur Springs Woman Arrested for Second DWI Offense
HOPKINS COUNTY, TX — April 7, 2025
On the evening of April 7, 2025, officers with the Sulphur Springs Police Department arrested 65-year-old Patricia Wallace of Sulphur Springs following a suspected Driving While Intoxicated offense.
Authorities responded to the 300 block of Helm Lane after observing a vehicle obstructing the roadway. Upon arrival, officers found Wallace alone in the vehicle, which was parked diagonally. She reportedly exhibited several signs of intoxication including glassy, red eyes, slurred speech, and a moderate odor of alcohol.
Wallace refused to comply with field sobriety tests and became argumentative, prompting officers to remove her from the vehicle. She was taken into custody, placed in double-locked handcuffs, and transported to the Hopkins County Jail.
At the jail, Wallace declined to provide a voluntary specimen for testing. A warrant for a blood draw was secured and executed at Christus Mother Frances Hospital by medical staff. After the blood draw, Wallace was returned to the jail and formally charged with Driving While Intoxicated—Second Offense.
Investigators confirmed Wallace had a prior DWI conviction from the state of California.
