Sulphur Springs Woman Arrested for Theft and Drug Possession at Walmart

Hopkins County, TX – On Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025, officers with the Sulphur Springs Police Department arrested Samantha Grace Norman, 25, at Walmart on Broadway Street following a theft investigation that led to additional drug charges.

Walmart asset protection staff observed Norman allegedly passing the final point of sale without paying for multiple items. Officers responded at approximately 8:28 PM. The total amount of merchandise was reported to be $274.32.

After detaining Norman, officers conducted a probable cause search of her purse. During the search, they discovered a vape container containing suspected marijuana, two THC vape pens, and a black container holding multiple white and blue pills. According to the report, Norman did not have a prescription container with her name on it. The blue pills were later identified as Alprazolam (Xanax).

Officers transported Norman to the Hopkins County Jail, where she was booked on the following charges:

  • Possession of Controlled Substance PG 2 <1G (State Jail Felony)
  • Possession of Dangerous Drug (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Theft of Property >$100 <$750 (Class B Misdemeanor)

She was taken into custody without further incident. The arresting officers were identified as Corporal Green (#210) and Officer Corley (#222), both with SSPD.
