A Kilgore man was taken into custody in Hopkins County after officers responded to a reported disturbance late Thursday night.
According to an arrest affidavit, officers were dispatched at approximately 11:57 p.m. on January 15, 2026 in reference to a disturbance. When officers arrived, a complainant reported that a man had allegedly displayed a knife and made threatening movements while repeatedly “flicking” the blade in and out.
The complainant told officers the man continued walking away but had approached in a manner that caused fear of bodily injury if law enforcement did not intervene, the affidavit states. Officers reported they were able to recover a knife described by the complainant.
Arrest & Charge
Ladarren Antonio Reed, 38, of Kilgore, was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of:
- Assault by Threat (Misdemeanor)
Reed was transported to the county jail for booking. No additional details were released in the affidavit regarding injuries.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
