
David Lloyd Demus, Black male 47-years-old, has been officially charged with Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle, two counts of Intoxication Assault with a Motor Vehicle, and Accident Involving Death (FSRA). He remains in the hospital under the custody of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department.

On December 14, 2020, at approximately 7:20 a.m., a male driver of a 2020 gray 4 door Nissan Sentra was driving eastbound in the 2500 block of Missouri Avenue with three juveniles ages 10, 11, and 13. The driver (Black male 47-years-old) of a blue 2013 Mazda 6 four door sedan was traveling northbound Maryland Avenue when he disregarded the stop sign and crashed into the left passenger side of the Nissan Sentra. The Mazda continued northbound striking a fence on the eastside of the roadway.
The driver of the Mazda continued driving by backing the vehicle into another fence on the westside of the street before coming to rest. The driver of the Mazda was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The three juvenile occupants of the Nissan Sentra were all injured and transported to Children’s hospital by DFR. The 10-year-old died at the hospital. The condition of the driver of the Nissan is unknown at this time. He is related to the 10-year-old that was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Mazda is being investigated for intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
